I just bought a male adult gtp. He is awesome, but he wont use his perch. He has only been in the house for a day, but i know my temps/humidity/etc are all pretty good. He just sits half-curled around his water bowl on the floor. Is this just a settling in thing or should i be more concerned? PLease let me know so i can take action just as soon as possible. thanks alot, -Jay

>>You didn't say what your cage set up consisted of, but it could be the animal is stressed out if it does not have anywhere to hide and feel safe. Try putting in different size/type branches at both the cool and warm ends of cage...bearing in mind that the animal will probably choose to go to the highest branches if this is a choice no matter the temps. Maybe add a Pothos plant for cover. That all said it is not uncommon for a healthy GTP to go to the ground for a period of time. Good luck...!...TW

He is in a temp setup right now (I have 2 vision 222's en-route) Its a 72 quart sterlite bin with a 1" dowell perch 2/3 of the way up on one end and his water bowl on the floor at the other. The ambient temps in my whole room are roughly 82 day 79night, with room humidity in the 60%'s and cages misted as necessary. I put some false leaves in with him and covered him, hoping he might feel more secure on the whole if covered. I noticed last night he was very active, kind of roaming around restlessly, without showing much interest in his perch. Hopefully he's just checkin out his new home, and getting acclimated. Any other input or info/advice would be much appreciated. Thanks guys, -Jay
