If any knows what to do with an injured collared lizard or has any information, it would be greatly appreciated. Yesterday I took my female collared out of her cage when I got home and she climbed up to my shoulder. She then tried to jump to the corner of my bed where the comforter was sticking out slightly. She's done this before and nothing has happened. I couldn't react quickly enough to catch her midair and she hit the comforter, but when she landed on the ground she was on her back with her mouth gaping and her body shaking. I put her back in her cage to let her rest on her net. She isn't moving her front legs very well. I fed her about 3 hours after the incident and she eagerly ate 3 superworms. About 2 hours later I turned out her lights and she slowly walked to the back of the net, and then tried to climb down, but fell and obviously caused herself a great deal of pain because she started squirming across the aquarium floor and then came to a stop towards the front of the cage. I took her out to put her in a smaller cage that I normally keep my crickets so that she wouldn't be able to injure herself anymore and noticed that she isn't using her front legs at all and is trying to prop herself up on her hind legs. I'm not sure exactly what is wrong with her as I haven't taken her to a vet and I dont' know how much a vet visit will cost. But from what I see, it looks as though she's injured her front shoulder region between her two legs. If anyone has any information on what to do with an injured lizard I would greatly appreciate it. I've had her for about a year now and she's in great health, always energetic and I want her injuries to heal.
