Anole Picture

AJR Mar 10, 2004 02:50 PM

I finally got my first digital camera and I caught this lizard on the main branch. She was sitting in the sun and I could not believe she didn't bolt to one of her many hiding spots.

This was the Anole that I found 5 months ago nearly starved to death and badly dehydrated after accidentally stowing away in my Aunt's things when she moved here to Chicago from Florida.

Beautiful anole! What kind of anole is that? I love the pattern on her" back. I would have to say very lucky you to have found her and that she did not die.

It is a Female Cuban Brown Anole. The female has that diamond pattern down the back. It is really vivid (although not very colorful) when seen from above. The male is mostly spots.
