For those with multiple cages/chameleons

trinacliff Mar 10, 2004 03:02 PM

When having multiple cages/chams right next to each other, what is the best way to keep them from seeing each other? I don't want to have something too temporary...so any ideas?

Thanks!
Kristen

We use styrene that can be purchased at Home Depot or a hardware store. It comes in a sheet of 4X2X2 and is lightweight. Its used for flo. light fixtures found on the ceiling. You'll need to score it with something sharp, and it breaks apart very easily. Thats if your using it for smaller cages.

I use cheesecloth. It's cheap & easy and doesn't completely kill air flow.

I used towles down the middle for a few cages. When i had many i wouldn't use anything but alot of plant cover. Never had a problem and they didn't seem to even notice each other..

I also use styrene for florescent light fixtures. Depending on the sizes of the cages, you will or won't need to cut it. There's also several different types of it, white or clear, but either way, they can't see through clearly. The clear type is similar to a shower door, and they won't be able to see their reflection. It's pretty flimsy stuff so be careful with it until it's in place, and dig through the pile of it at the store, because about 50 percent of the ones I dug through had broken corners on them.

I used a double layer of black outdoor shade cloth, the chams can't see through it and it doesnt block air flow. I just stiched it on at the corners on the outside of the cage using fishing line. it also cant mildew like some other materials can when being sprayed frequently.
