Whatsup with these eggs???

restlesswind444 Mar 10, 2004 05:01 PM

The ones circled in red were laid by Fiona on 2-24 (definitely fertile) and the ones in yellow by Cassidy yesterday. The ones in green were by Floid today. The ones Floid laid today were all floppy and like liquid filled sacs, I think they might have smelled funny too, although im positive they were laid in the last 12 hours. Has anyone had this happen before? I'm assuming it just means theyre infertile...is this cuz its her first clutch or because my male didnt get the job done with her (she is a "hot" female). Finally the 2 stuck together that Cassidy laid, is this bad? the tops seemed like they were squished down too like from the top of the hidebox or something even though its 3-4'' tall. One more thing, I candled the 2 stuck together and am pretty sure they're fertile but the clump ove veins seems to be toward the side/bottom...istn't it supposed to be up top?
Thanks for your help,
Chris

if they dont feel chalky and hard like a stale marshmallow then they're most likelt infertile, usually the females first clutch is infertile, you might wanna breed her back to another male to see what happens

The rule though is, don't give up until they're completely caved in, because you never know...some pretty wild eggs have hatched, before.
