Crested Gecko

tippy_80 Mar 11, 2004 01:19 AM

We have 2 female crested geckos that are about to lay eggs, and was wondering how and where they would lay them. We have read to put an egg laying container in the terrarium , but we have also read that if you have live plants in the terrarium that chances are they will not use the container. Since their terrarium looks like a jungle we have decided not to use the container. But now we are wondering how and where they might lay them. Any advice would be great! Thanks.

well the main reason that many people put an extra
container into the cage, is to know where the eggs
will be, once they are laid.

id put stones around your live plants, to prevent
the geckos from digging there, and give them an
extra egg laying container.

depending on how deep the general substrate of your
crested cage is, they might burrow them almost everywhere.

best regards
