Hello,
I have a 12 month old 90 gram male tang tremper albino which I bred to 5 females each had one night with him expect the 5th female which had 2 nights. I saw copulation with every female expect one which I saw him licking his hemipenis with her right next to him so I'm sure she bred too. He had a hemipenis prolapse on the 6th day so I took him to the vet. He is doing will but was his mating too much for him as it was his first time?

Males will breed as often as possible when housed with a colony of females, so I don't think it is from doing it "too much." Prolapsed hemipenes can be caused by many things... too much fat around the coloaca and dried feces and semen in and around the cloaca are the most common. This is why it is not always a good idea to let males get too fat (especially during breeding season), and why they lick themselves after copulation.

I wouldn't consider my male fat as all its the skinny one of the group. I wonder why it happened

i have a rankin's dragon that at one point had a BAAAAAD prolapse. i had to take him into the emergency room an the animal hospital and they had to amputate his left one. it was too far gone...

they told me that they suspected that it happened because he got too excited about being around his lady too much. maybe the same thing happens to geckos.
