We will probably see the real deal in four to five years.There was a line proven genetic last year and now work can begin on the true dbl-hets.

shannon, can you tell me more? I've never seen convincing evidence of any striped hondo morph being proven to be a simple recessive. (my theory--and i'll admit it's just speculation, an effort to explain observed results--is that the striping is the result of the interaction of multiple genes, much as (I think) tangerine and tricolor varieties are determined.
