do Ectotherm Dragon yummies go bad?

UroJade Mar 11, 2004 01:08 PM

i've had a bag of them since october and none of my dragons liked them so i just zipped them up and put them back in the fridge i was thinking about trying again and chopping them real small and mixing them into the salads and maybe feeding them the the crickets
how long do these last after opening before they go bad?

Mine didn't have an expiration date either. But after a few months they turned a different color and smelled weird. So I tossed them. If they look the same and smell the same, they might be fine. ???

I found a blue (mold?) spot on our so I didn't take a chance. I was going to write the company to see if there was an experation on them. Dumb me, threw out the package so I don't have a name.

From the extotherm site
"Dragon Yummies ™ have a shelf life of 1 year unopened. Once opened they need to be placed in the refrigerator and will last 9 months. We use very mild Human Grade naturally derived preservatives. "
