Upper resp infection?

maneatingorchid Mar 11, 2004 01:17 PM

Ok, I've noticed that Embrodak, my mali, has been clicking a little bit when he breathes after some heavy excercise (I.e. Scaling my hands, circle dancing). Do you tihnk it's upper resp? If it is, it'll be caught next week at the vet. I'm really up the creek on this one because he's acting fine and eating and there's no odd discharge, and he's in a a 20% humidity tank with a 80-145 degree gradient, so I wouldn't think he'd have a problem.

same thing happened with me, While my uro had upper resp. she still ate and acted normal, its just that should would click, and almost do a hick-up like motion and as she did that she would shoot out a clear white liquid out of her nose. So i would wait a few days and monitor him closely. Thats what i did with my ornate and now she is fine and doing great. If he still makes the clicking noise by Saturday i would go to the vet, if it gets worse go to th vet ASAP. I had 4 uros that had upper resp. infection. 1 hatchling died, 1 hatchling survived, 2 adults survived. 1 of the adults that caught it got better without meds. I was going to give them to her, but she got rid of it before i could make a vet appointment, lol. And when i took her there he said that it isn't worth giving meds for because it was basically gone, and their was no reason to. Good luck.
