Starter?

SouthFLBoa Mar 11, 2004 03:36 PM

Does anyone know a good starter rearfanged snake for me? I have been keeping snakes for over 4 years so I have experience with them. I have never kept venomous ones though. So if anyone knows of a good rearfanged snake to start off with please reply.
Thanks in advance

Well first, do you have any in mind? Does any one type of snake catch your eye?

Yes i do have one in mind. I really like Oriental whipsnakes.

Ok, reptikid, I'm assuming you're a kid. If you are, you shouldn't get a venomous snake. How about a nice frog?

You should try a low venom (though i don't know the toxcicity of the snakes you are looking at)snake like a CB hognose, night snake (if you can provide small lizards), cat-eyed snake, or lyre snake. Ive kept a night snake before but they are hard to keep because they need like 1/3 inch long geckos. Mine sadly died a month ago supposedly due to heavy parasite load =( Good luck. Thekidgecko
