You'd more than likely get normals het for pastel I'm pretty sure its a reccesive gene but don't quote me. High yellow is line bred so you may get high yellow babys but it's a very slim chance.

Alright, hmm ok heres a question, if I bread a high yellow and super hypo pastel what dif. types of morphs will the offspring turn out to be.

Dedalus Mar 11, 2004 04:40 PM

All offspring from the original pair will be normal with a slim chance of being pastel OR high yellows probobly under 10% maybe even under 5%. If you bred the offspring back to the parents your chances for either line would increase but not much over 25%, unless of course you bred back a baby that shows either pastel or high yellow, then your about a 50/50 chance.

Neither of those are recessives.

You'll get babies that have some high yellow and some pastel characteristics, they'll probably look somewhere in between their parents, in color. I doubt they'll look like "normals". They are very unlikely to look as yellow as their high yellow parent, or as pastel as their pastel parent. They'll probably be hypos, but not super-hypo. Depends how much your high yellow's patterning is reduced.

This is a guess based on general understanding of linebred traits, I haven't actually tried this combo personally.
