breeding

I am going to breed my two red diamonback rattlesnakes ( crotalus ruber). Does anyone know where i can get an incubator? Thanks

I've never bred rattlers before but I have this strange feeling you won't need an incubator. I guess you can pick one up in a feed store just in case, though.

Don't worry, you won't need one. The mother will coil around the eggs and keep them warm till they hatch.

Just kidding! Rattlesnakes give live birth. All you will need is a basking light for the female. Keep the room cool with the light at one end of the cage(at least 95F, preferably higher) so the snakes can have a thermal gradient to choose from.

I thought maybe he wanted the incubator in case the neonates were premature; you know like they keep human babies in if they're born too early. The kid probably needs to do a little more reading before he attempts ANYTHING with those rattlesnakes!

No offence, but personally, if you're going to be keeping hots, and didn't know that Crotalus were live bearers, a little more research is in order before you get at all serious into these animals.

Honestly, you should know you don't need an incubator if you are the crotalidking...
