He's still hanging in there. I'm not sure anymore, sometimes I think he's getting better, then he'll go start gaging again.

I just blended up 20 crikets and a few mealworms in the blender (my new $150 margarita blender ), with some calcium, baby food, and water. I thought for sure he would like that, but no he gaged for about 10 minutes afterwards. I'm not sure if he succeeded in throwing it up or not. His tougue looked whiter than normal, I read somewhere that this is a sign of dehydration . I've been giving him his meds, baby food, and drops of water everyday, they must be going right through. It also looked like there was a slit or cut in the middle of his tougue. Has anyone noticed this on leos before? or did it maybe split as a result of the gaging or something eles?

It's horrible to say, but I really wish he would get better or pass away . It's like caring for a dying baby, who is slowly (VERY SLOWLY) getting worse and worse. He's taking up all my time, I'm falling behind in school and neglecting all my other babies. I have two big furry mutts, a lovebird, fish, and a pacman frog. Not to metion the worst part, watch him suffer day, after day, after day... I check on him every 5 minutes when I'm home just to make sure he is still breathing.

He used to like when I took him out of his cage, he would turn bright yellow when he was exploring (he is a patternless leo). Now when I take him out he hates it.

He's definately finding it harder to lift himself up. His arms and legs bend so much, they often look broken. He often just leavs his legs sprawled out behind him, I've never seen a leo do this so I'm sure it's not healthy. He rarely opens his eyes, the only way I can tell he is alive is because of his slow breathing, or maybe his heartbeat, I can't tell.
His head looks really flat and his tail has shrunk half it's normal size. The only time he gets up on his own is when he is sick . I want to stop giving him his meds because they seem to only make him sick and drain his energy.

I'm not sure what to do, I don't think there is anything I haven't tried. I do know that if he dies and it's from parasites I'm going to want to punch the vet. He pretty much refused to do a parasite check. Anyways sorry this is so long. Thank you SO much for your support, everyone has been so nice and helpful,

Lisa

hey girl, I'm sorry you're going through such a tough time. Hang in there. Really if i ever die and come back as a gecko i'd wish to have you as an owner. You've done so much for him already. You've sacrificed so much, you're a good, good person.
If he could speak english he'd be thanking you for sticking with him through all of this. Some things just can't be changed and they happen for a reason.

Good luck and take it easy

I wish I could say the same. It's because of my inexperience that he is dying from MBD
