Newbie w/ lots of questions...

GoldenGeckoGuy23 Mar 11, 2004 07:00 PM

Hey yall,

I'm a recently new adoptee of a beautiful Golden Gecko and I have some questions that NEED answering!

Basically I need the run down of how to take care of him. I've looked on the internet and everything just seems to contradict itself. We've been trying to feed it meal worms and minced up fruit but it hasn't eaten in days. Also I want to know about how many times it should be misted. Again, I'm a newbie to all of this and I want to learn and take care of my gecko, but it's starting to worry me b/c it won't eat. So, any help yall can give me would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

You should mist your golden gecko 2x a day.If your gecko won't eat try putting some fruit flavored baby food on your finger and gently rub his nose with it.He should lick it off then.

It will prob be more receptive to crickets than mealies, that what I would use. After its eating well you can try mealies. many times after recieving a new gecko and putting in a new home he will be stressed and may take a while to resume eating, could be a couple days or a couple weeks. Give plenty of recovery time with no addition stress besides misting and droping its live food in.
