Get your fixtures at Home Depot/Lowe's..
Use household bulbs for basking lights.
Duck shelfliner (Walmart) for substrate, it can be disinfected and used over and over.
Buy crickets in bulk online.

i use indoor outdoor halogen bulbs (the ons i use are in a yellow box) but i can get the same temperatures from a 50watt with those that i get with a 100watt made for reptiles and the halogens are cheaper
and i got alot of stuff i really needed for christmas so that saved alot lol

will standard lights have any effect on the beardie? like color potentioal? long term heath? or is it mainly just for heat?

I'm still learning, but have researched a lot recently and will be buying my first beardie hopefully in a week or so!

Anyhow, to answer your question...the typical household bulbs they're talking about are strictly for heat. You'll still need a light source for UVB. Some people use one bulb for both, but those are definitely not your standared household type!

I raise roaches instead of buying crickets. I was able to get 50 adult/near adult discoids for the price that it cost me to get a weeks worth of crickets; only difference is that w/ a few months wait they are producing to the level needed to feed Fluffy. I feed them cat food (which I already get for the cats) and fresh veggies so thier upkeep is minimal. And as an added bonus, I know I will always have a supply of healthy nutritious food.
