I captured a Rana sylvatica in my yard, and about a week later she laid some eggs. I can't find the best info through search engines so if anyone has kept these or can direct me where to go I'd appreciate it. She hasn't eaten yet (meal worms and crickets supplied daily-any other ideas?) If she doesn't eat within a week I'm going to release her and try to raise some tadpoles. From what I've read I believe it's pretty easy. What I would like to do is set up a tank with the R. sylvatica and maybe some other native species, probably about 1/2 water and 2/3 planted land (I have a beautiful custom deep 60 gallon that's just begging to be moved out of storage!) I'd like to have some guppies/comets and maybe ghost shrimp in the water and as many herps as I can on land. I realize most don't mix well, but perhaps some salamanders or something would work. I am really a fish person and just got my first herp (a red eared slider) a couple months ago, but now I am in so deep I may never get out! Thanks in advance for any info...
Molly
