Open wound, treatment

Rodan Mar 11, 2004 10:44 PM

Have a young snake that has received a small trauma to her tail, leaving an open wound. I have some meds here I was thinking about applying, topically, to prevent infection, and was wondering if anyone happened to know if it would be safe. The name of the product is 'Skin Sheild', and the active ingredients are: Dyclonine Hydrochloride, and Benzethonium Chloride.

That product should be safe. The first ingredient is a topical anesthetic & the second ingredient is an anti-microbial.
