My red-eared slider seems to have a white film over his eyes most of the time. Very ocasionally he appears to open tthem and reveal his eyes. Is this normal? Is the film another set of eyelids? Does this mean he is sick? Please help? Thanks

I believe those are just his eyelids...
However, this is just from my personal experience, but is your water salty? I know you may not have added any salt but sometimes some internal product or the tank itself creates a salty water and my turtles had a tank like this one time and they were closing their eye exposing the white filmy layer all the time even during the day. I think they can see through that thin layer but it's not good for them I would assume. So make sure your tank water isn't salty (or if it smells like chlorine) but thats just what I think.
Thanks a lot, the water was pretty green from the sun a wk ago, perhaps he is protecting his eyes from it. Will observe somore and take out the anti-chlorine from his water.
