Can ya tell me the difference between a Sunset and a Sunglow genetically? Sunglows i have seen seem to be alot more vivid in color. Perhaps someone can post a comparison picture. In any event....those are 3 gorgeous animals! I have dealt with Ian also and have always been very pleased. susan

Sunglows are hypo/salmon whichever you prefer to use, combined with the albino gene. There are DH Sunglow(or Hypo Het Albino for those that like to nit pick) Sharp strains, but I don't know of any Sunglows with the Sharp strain YET....so, the sunglows you see now should all be Kahl(original) strain albinos with the hypo gene also visible. The Sunset boa from what I've read on the advertisement for them from D&M Breeders while in Daytona last year was nothing more than a very orange 3rd generation Hog Island boa bred to a hypo boa. I thought Dave himself produced Hypo x hogs, so I'd be interested in his take on the difference. Fill me in if you would Dave...they're great looking boas regardless, but at this point I don't think they deserve "morph" status in any way. If I'm wrong please do explain how the "sunset" is a morph. By the way Dave if you read this, congrats on the recent litters, things look like they're going great for you this season! Take care

Decided upon to visually describe his hypo X hog boas. "Sunset" sounds much better than hypo X hog cross. Basically the same thing as some other lines like The Boaphile's "Scarlet" hypos, which differentiates his bloodline from all other pastel hypos.

3rd generation of Tip Powers Dom. Hypo to a super orange Hog Isle, then the sublings of these were breed back to each other to make Sunsets. They not even related to hyppo x hogs Dave E.T.R.

I produced them, Moe sold em due to my busy shedule & no time ( at that time)to deal & ship.THIS YEAR ( I hope) to have more. She's due in April. This is the same female as 2 yrs ago. Only difference now is,the original Dad was an ugly, muddy looking hypo (which I highly over paid for) from a "dealer" who resently was removed from adverising on this site
This years Dad Is a F 3 Salmon,Gee line. I have never breed for Sunsets.......but will be in the near future : ) Thanks for the kind words.

Congratulations on obtaining such an outstanding "sunset", now you can appreciate why I named them sunsets. This is a great addition to any hypo collection. If you should need my support, feel free to contact me, I'd be more than happy to help. I am expecting a large litter between April and June and I will have crosses as well as sunsets. I am showing some pics from a previous litter. Thank you to everyone who has supported this project. Good Luck to you, Dave.

Just another sunset pic. This one is in shed, his coloration is outrageous.

Really nice coloration, need to buy at least a trio this year, I may do that in Daytona
