Veiled Chameleon Info Links..

phibia5 Mar 12, 2004 05:01 PM

Hey all i am new to the forums. I am thinking about buying a pair of velied chameleons over the Summer, so i have been buying a couple of books on them. They seem like awesome creatures! But anyway, I still have alot of reading to do. I want to surf the web for some different sites. I was curious if any of you veiled chameleon owners would recommend any Links to good info sites which you have referred to in the past. Any Links would really help. So far i have printed a rearing guide that I found on this site, but I'd like to have a few sites (and guides) to refer to. Thanx for your help

Glad you are doing your homework in advance

These are the usual recommended sites. You can get a lot of good, reliable info from all. On the Chameleon News site besure to look at their earlier issues (just click on the year)
for LOTS of articles on many topics. These should tide you over for awhile! And of course, ask questions here - we're a pretty friendly bunch!

ALL of these have info on breeding, husbandry, baby/nursery info, nutrition, species, feeders, health, vets and MUCH more:

I know of a trio of Veileds that are for sale. You can contact Tyler ( bluebeastreptile@aol.com ) and inquire about them.

Hope this helps,

Just a reminder: Almost all chams and ESPECIALLY veileds need their own cages with visual isolation from other herps. If you plan on buying 2 veileds you'll need two complete set ups. This can be a very expensive proposition. And under no circumstances should you (i.e., a novice) buy animals less than 16 weeks old.
