he/she should still be getting protien (crix, supers, pellets, etc.) everyday...they need it until well over a year of age.

he/she is still growing and needs the protien.

hopethis helps

proper supplementation as well. ie. calcium and vitamins.

I feed my dragons every day. You can feed him about 7 or 8 a day, but make sure to dust the crix with calcium. He will grow really well for you if you make sure to feed crix and some sort of vegetation(i.e romaine lettuce, green leaf lettuce, etc.) Your dragon should be pooping about 1 time a day on average, sometimes more sometimes less. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Lettuce has very poor nutritional value for beardies. You should switch to greens, like mustards, collards, dandilion greens. You aren't doing your lizard any favors with lettuce.

If you are wanting to cut down on crickets a bit, you could introduce pellets. Beardies need plenty of protein while growing to meet their full potential.
Greens, not lettuces should be given daily and you could put soaked pellets on top.

So i should only be feedin him 7 or 8 crix a day? HOLY!, i've been givin him like maybe 20 or 30 a day. I never knew they were only supposed to eat that much. He's about 16" long and he's pretty heavy, i dont know exactly how heavy, but he's got quite a bit of weight. Are you sure i should only give him like 7 or 8 per day?

Deffinitely keep feeding him as many crickets as he can eat in a 10-15 minute period. By 6 months of age, you can cut down to one feeding of crickets (or other insects) a day, and offer greens as well. Supplimentation can be cut back to once every other day.
