About 9 months ago I adopted a (then) 12 year old Okeetee corn from a friend who was going to college. He was quite healthy, although blind in one eye from a detached cornea which the vet assures me is painless and doesn't seem to cause him any trouble.
His previous owners fed him only live mice from petco (!), but I quickly moved him to frozen/thawed, at the same rate he had been eating the live ones, 2 adult mice every 2 weeks. He was eating these with no problem at all up until January, when he started only eating one of the two mice offered to him. I didn't worry about it much at the time, but the next few feedings he still only ate one mouse, and then 5 weeks ago he stopped eating even just the one.
After two complete failures at feeding him frozen/thawed mice, I tried a live mouse to see if that was the problem, and basically he just ran away from it, staying as far as possible from it in the cage.
At this point it's been 5 weeks now since he last ate, and months since he ate his full 2 mice at a feeding. Right now, he's in his feeding box with a frozen/thawed mouse which he seems to show a lot of interest in, but won't eat. He's just pushing it around with his nose, and has been for about a half hour now.
Anyone have any thoughts?
