Genetic/incubation mishaps???

RedQuake Mar 13, 2004 08:50 AM

As most of you know i got a new gecko i named bubbles that has a few odd characteristics. For one thing, her head is huge, one eye lid is kinda wavy and despite being a full figured gal, she's got extra skin hanging off of her, like she dropped so alot of weight but hasn't. Do any of these things resemble a mishap with incubation temps or a genetic oops? She is the sweetest thing, very calm and doesn't shy away from me as much as my other geckos. I know pics would really help out here but i can't get any developed right now....i think i'll try my web cam and see if, with alot of light, i can get a clear image (dont'know if its the camera or my computer that makes them turn out so bad).

If anyone has any pics or knows where i can see pics of deformites (i hate using that word, lets try unique traits) that would be great.

Thanks a million

could be either one...but in case it is genetic i wouldent breed her, even if the traits didnt pass onto her babies they may be resessive and be harmfull in latter generations.
i have lots of "special" babies ive gotten through rescue and i love them, i just dont breed the ones who may have problems, so enjoy her and the rest of your babies!

I don't intend to breed her....actually i don't intend to breed many of my females. Thanks for the responce, i guess it really doesn't matter why she is the way she is. The important thing is she is an addition i'll love no matter what This type of thing does weigh on my mind though now that i'm waiting for eggs. i don't want to have problems because of incubation temp issues.
