Digit-5 months after adoption...9 months old now

Linda G Mar 13, 2004 09:46 AM

Hi Everyone,

I couldn't resist posting this picture of Digit. He is really
starting to look like an adult. Just weighed and measured
him and he is 26" SVL and 220 grams.

Also, I am excited that his new habitat is done and I am
going to post some pictures.

Just wanted to share

Linda

I'm so excited! I took a weeks vacation and got this done.
This was a 8x8 walk in closet, but will work perfectly for
Digit for a while.

The logs are real. I got them from a park and soaked them
in bleach and water for 8 hours, rinsed well and let them
dry for a couple of weeks. He has 3 levels and has been
very active since I put him in. The background is wallpaper
of clouds.

You can see Digit on the 2nd level. I had a hard time
getting the closet into view. The bottom is cut off.

My husband made the new doors with wood and plexiglass and
they slide for easy access.

I'm not real creative but I had fun.

That enclosure looks realy nice. He should be really happy in there. Digit looks awesome. He looks a lot bigger than my Ed. I am thinking now maybe my Ed is younger than I thought. She is only 25" long. I thought she was almost a year old. Maybe it's because she is female. I don't know. The spikes on her head are still really small. Here she is shedding and swimming.

Sorry for the huge picture. I made the picture as small as I could and when I uploaded it it fit in the space, but now it's huge. I can't figure it out.

Your baby looks much more petite than Digit. It maybe a
female My vet is pretty sure Digit is a male, by the looks
of his femoral pores. I kinda wish he was a female but I fell
in love with him when I saw him at the shelter so it did not
matter whether male or female.

have my new iggy/turtle habitat done in the next couple of
years. I am going to add a solarium to my home, specifically
set up for Beanie, Digit, my 4 aquatic turtles and my 2 year
old Redfoot tortoise. They will have their own areas of course
because it will be large enough.

My husband is sooo.. looking forward to this (or not)
He is such a saint for putting up with all of my ideas.

Great looking enclosure and Iguana. But I have to ask: DId you mean 26 inches SVL? or STL?

He doesn't look 2 feet snout to vent in the picture.

Wow, Linda, he looks great! And I love the enclosure, he is a verra lucky little iglet Makes me wish I had some decent closets LOL mine are all the skinny useless kind. I'd rather have no closets, and the extra room space, than whats in this house. Young igs are so adorable, I love the bright green
