any one ever tame a 5 lined skink

any one ever tame a 5 lined skink i have been told it can't be done . i have one named gizmo i had a pair but sadly after a battle with illness it passed away but hopefully this summer i will have another for the one i have we are working on hopefully breeding them so if any one has a 5 lined skink for sale in md let me know please . i am including a picture i ma not sure if it is a mae of female . I really want another right now can't pay much for it but it will have a great home in a 30 gallon home a naturalistic setting any way i am including a pic if any one knows what sex it is please let me know the photo is a little big sry one way to get a good pic of him he is still small

"Tame" is certainly a relative word. I don't see why a diligent person couldn't have a 5-lined that didn't go shooting around the room everytime it was picked up.

I often think about this Ground Skink that was ridiculously calm, it hugged my warm thumb in this picture. He allowed me to take several great photos of him before I let him go.

I have a female five-lined. I can usually handle her after a few tries. But I would never trust her not to take a dive for the floor so I hold her over her enclosure. Their very difficult to sex until they are sexually mature. The male will lose his lines and be pretty much brown. He will also get an enlarged orange bottom jaw during the breeding season. Both sexes lose the blue coloration on the tail as they get older. I don't know if this is because they've lost their tail and it grew back brown or what but I've never seen an adult with a blue tail. Here's some pics of mine.

hi thanks for sharing the pic of your skink my guy is still a juvinile i believe less then a year old .i love him so much and hope to get him/ her a mate when it reaches matureity any way ttyl
