appetite of baby bearded dragons

cornelius85 Jun 11, 2003 12:45 PM

I now have 2 dragons that are about 3 and 4 weeks old. both of them do eat, but never very much. I usually throw crickets into them and they are alert and chase down 2-4 but thats about it. I always have vegetation for them to eat throughout the day, and feed crickets in the morning as well as when i get home. they get sprayed twice a day. I will have to check the temps as i know its hot enough, but maybe too hot. Any suggestions, or is this an alright qty that they are eating. They eat small 2 week crickets right now.

Thanks for the help

Hey Greg,
My little red guy (from the Calgary show) is doing the same thing. How is your's doing?

Mine will only eat 1-4 crickets per feeding. I even have silk worms that he does not seem to like. He does eat his greens which I dust but he is not growing anything like the other one I got at the same time. I'm going to get a fecal test done soon and I'm also going to try feeding him some liquified food.

He is the one who seems to not be growing that fast. I just got another one 2 days ago that was 3 weeks old as well and is the same size as the one I have had for almost a month. Im going to ask others how theirs are doing.

Maybe it's genetic. Or maybe they have a similar parasite problem. Hopefully both of ours will be OK. I'm starting to get worried about mine. Let me know if you find out anything.
