You should make him a little eye patch to wear.

Amy!
I found a toad EXACTLY like this one a few years back! (I will try to post the picture here, but if it doesn't show, than you can find it in the Kingsnake picture gallery) He seemed to be doing ok by himself (I observed him several consecutive nights singing by the pond) so I didn't take him in, though I did question if I should or not. The one eye he had looked to me as if he might be blind anyway since it was all black.

I'm wondering if maybe this eyeless thing could be a genetic mutation rather than an accident/injury, or are eye injuries common for wild toads? Just for curiosity's sake- what state did this toad come from? I found my eyeless toad in southern Pennsylvania.

Interesting! Thanks for sharing your story!

my one eyed toad came from maryland i don't believe his was a gentic mutation but could be when he got her the eye part was all messed up like infected and things so had to go into surgery and get everything fixed up it still may have been a mutation that got infected or something can't be to sure but i hope it is not if i would not have taken leglos in he would have died no doubt about it he now has to be hand fed cause he can not catch and swallow normal food so it is all labor intensive he gets vitamins and things to help him get stronger but he is great all in all very sweet baby . any way ttyl
