Stellio discussion continued.

Here is a breakdown of the stellio group. I really think that Dave's is just a color variation of brachydactyla as I think that is or was the most commonly imported subspecies. It is really hard to tell though as no one really knows where they are coming from in the region.

Laudakia stellio Laudakia stellio Hardun (aka Sling-Tailed Agama, Painted Agama) Greece & islands (inc. Cyclades, Rhodes & Corfu), Turkey, Cyprus, Egypt, Israel, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Saudi Arabia
Subspecies
L. s. stellio Saloniki, Cyclades (Mykonos Islands, Delos, Paros, Antiparos, Naxos), Sporades, Rhodes, Corfu
L. s. brachydactyla N Saudi Arabia, S Israel, Sinai Desert
L. s. cypriacus Cyprus
L. s. daani Salonika, many Aegean islands
L. s. picea SW Syria, S Lebanon, N Israel, NW Jordan
L. s. vulgaris N Egypt

LOINKING !!!! As far as I know--loinking is a constitutional right given to us by the 4 fathers. Cool bunch of pics Tom. I thoink I have the stellio brachywhatever. It was the living pits to have a dozen of these pop out of the sand once a month & then be forced to sell em off for less than $10.00 each. I got lots of loinkers but few toinkers when I took em to the local herp show.

This lizard in the yard was ( the best I can toil) only a yearling when I goit him. He almost got killed daily by the adult males I had then -- they were very light with lots of blue on their backs. Females were mostly dull-- go figure!!
