I'm sure you've all seen the golden crocs on Crocodile hunter.
My question is what would they go for on the market. Also I believe they have some in las vegas at one of the casinos.
Thanks for the input,
CW

I don't know the term "golden croc" but would assume that the animal in question is a saltwater croc (Crocodylus porosus). If you are from the USA, you would need paperwork from the USFWS to allow you to bring one into the country. THis would probably be quite difficult to get if the reason is for personal pet purposes. If you live in the US and there is someone breeding them in your state (not likely), you could potentially get one from them, as long as it didn't leave the state and the original has proper paperwork.
It seems to me I remember seeing some for sale somewhere and as I recall, the price was over $1000 for a juvenile.
I ´ve seen many of them and other colour and pattern variations at Samutprakarn Crocodile Farm. All were pure C.porosus.
I am sure, it will be possible to buy them..sorry, dont have the current email-adress.

I work in a laboratory that is involved with crocodilian genetics research. We have some tissue samples and paperwork from some of these "golden" crocs that were imported from Thailand. As I understand it, "golden" crocs are a porosus X siamensis hybrid.
