Male or female??? Help me figure this out please

pcole Mar 13, 2004 03:01 PM

Hey all:
I have a BD approximately 300grams. It was sold to me when it was a juvenile as a male. I've raised it as a male in an enclosure with a female since they were both about 8" long. Never have witnessed any kind of breeding activity but I have noticed the known female head bobbing and the male in question arm waving in response. I have another male that I have to compare the bulges on the tail side of the vent to and notice that on the known male there is pronounced bules whereas on the male in question there seems to be little if any bulge. I'm thinking this "male" is in fact a female. I've included photos below. If it is difficult to determine from these photos I can take more. Please help me out here, I would greatly appreciate any input.
Thanks,
Pete

Looks like a male to me. It appears, especially in the first pic, that there are two bulges.
