HELP!!!! Food

shasha369 Mar 13, 2004 04:52 PM

I have a 11 inch female that has been slowing down in her intake of food, well she stoped eating yesterday, just one super worm per day no crickets very little or no vegetables. Since the Vet is not open until Mon. is there anything to tempt her until than?

I got some pedialite and turkey baby food got her to lick up about 1/2 of a tsp. of mixture is there anything else I can do since I do not have parazap on hand?

Dragons can go a while without food, I would give her warm baths and keep her hydrated, then take her to the vets if you're really worried. My guy will stop eating once in a while, especially when he's thinking of brumating and coming out of brumation. Hope she's ok!

Only 5 months old so she should still be eating!

I have made a mixture of pedialite, baby turkey & gravy and added a little D3 calicum powder every 2 hours and she looks a little better. I think I might lose her!

If she only stopped eating a day or so ago, I don't think you would lose her that quickly. As long as she was doing good before this "crash diet" of hers. Just keep her well hydrated and get her into the Vet tomorrow for a fecal and check up.
Sorry, I can't offer more advice than that, but usually it takes quite a while for a dragon to "starve" and get to the point of death.

its common for a dragon to slow down there intake of food just before they shed. i didnt see this mentioned so i thought i would.. i would also get it on parazap tea.
