I was over at a friends house paintballing and wanted to look at his herps. He has a special room just for them. He showed me his geckos in nice big 30 gallon tanks. Then we moved down to snappers, the tanks were a decent size, could be bigger. The I saw his RES. 4 RES in a 10 gallon tank, each about 3 inches. WHAT A BASTARD. I didn't want to say anything to piss him off. I would say he definitly plays favorites. Not to mention the RES were in about 1-2 inches of what with a tiny rock that could barely fit 1 and not artificial light. His 2 full size wood turtles were in a 20 gallon with about 3-4 inches of water. I just think its sick how he calls himself the herp crazy/lover when he doesn't even take care of them. He has his gators in a huge pond with a giant filter. O and another thing he feeds all his animals once a week. So I took pity on one of the healthier looking RES and got it off him for 5 bucks. Took it home, put it in a 10 gallon for now. Hes got a UVB bulb and a generous basking spot. I have put pellets and mealworm (aliens) with him, I haven't seen them since. My baby RES was ight next to him scratching to see his new dad. I couldn't help it, I know I should quarantine but I put the baby in there anyways. They get along. Baby is a little frightened but daddy doesn't pick on him. I am planning on getting a generously sized rubbermaid container or something like that to hold the new RES. I will have pictures as soon as my camera comes home.
Peace
Owen
