Need advice on sick boa....

Terry Cox Mar 13, 2004 08:09 PM

I know I don't ever post here, but I have a brother with two red-tailed boas. This one is about 8 ft. and has a respiratory infection which he's going to give antibiotics for, but it also seems to have some nerve damage, because it rolls onto its back with the stomach up. It hasn't eaten in almost two months and last time it ate it regurged. The warm part of the cage is 80 to 90*F. The other side is room temp.

This probably isn't a problem we can help with, but I'm posting just in case anyone has seen similar problems and can offer any advice. Just trying to help my brother out and don't know much about boas.

First, make sure your brother's boa is being kept in a separate area from the other one. Just in case it is contagious. Second, get it to a good vet ASAP! It sounds like the boa has a very serious condition and needs PROFESSIONAL medical attention.
