I can't believe how nice these guys are turning out. I had a real hard time parting with some of the first clutch, I don't know what I'm going to do when it comes time for these guys to go.
Does anyone know a good therapist? LOL

Those are BEAUTIFUL little dragons! Love the colors.
I can understand how difficult it would be. They are breath taking. How many did you keep? Can't wait to see what they look like older.
Great job w/them too.

I only kept 2 from the 1st clutch. I changed my mind on which ones a couple times. I sold one that I wish I kept.
He is way nicer than in the pic, I just couldn't get a great shot, and then again,, he seemed to get so much nicer after I posted the price for him. If I knew, I would have either kept him or asked for more.
This is him,,,
Oh,, I forgot about a female that I hadn't posted yet. She is in full shed so I can't really tell yet but if she turns out like a male that I sold, I'll be keeping her too.
Later. Joel

He's a very handsome boy. I really doubt that you can be disappointed w/any of these guys, no matter what color they turn out to be as adults or which ones you keep. They are truly stunning and unique. Congrats on them and post the pic of the lady when she's done w/her seaweed body wrap (shed that is).

I really like those dragons, Joel, I have never seen colors like those on such small babies. I can't wait to see what they look like as adults. It's really making me want to get a little orange female for my big yellow male, lol.
By the way, what are those dots on their tails? Did you paint those on for identification? What is that?
-----
-Andy
yes, they are identification. It is a 3 dot system
I was using acrylic paint but that was a pain because with so many colors & having to reapply it so often from shedding, scraping, soaking etc. I got some nontoxic paint pens from Joann's craft store that work great once you get the pen started.
Each color has an assigned #
So here it goes.
Each clutch gets a # also, 1st clutch is 1, 2nd is 2 etc. but that's just for the #'s not color dot.
using 2 color dots I get 36 possibilities from the dots.
Red = 1
yellow =2
green =3
blue = 4
white =5
black =6
and a color at the end or on the leg indicates male or female
blue boy pink girl
So if you see a dragon like this.
He is from clutch 1 so he is 116M the first 1 is the clutch # the second 1 is the top color which is red, and the 6 is the second color which is black and then the M is blue for Male
It's hard in the beginning but once you get used to it, it makes it a lot easier when someone says Hey,, I like that one. It's easier to find that one.
If you see where I have two sets of the same color, it's because it's about to shed where the first set is at so I put the same dots where they had already shed so they don't get lost.
Before I started using them, it was tuff to go back & find the one I though was so nice the night before, either it started shed or just isn't in the mood so isn't really showing off etc.
I works for me.
Joel
but I have found it to be much better to do it on their bellies. No little dragons going after little dots, and also you can actually just use numbers. Two colors if you want, one for boy one for girl or whatever and actually write the number with the non toxic paint. Chris
I was worried about it getting worn off to quickly from dragging around on the rock & stuff. Also, the skin is much thinner on the belly, I was worried about any type of reaction they could possibly have.
Joel
When I go to find one, I don't have to keep picking them up to look under them to see if it's them.
That make me think of the old carnival games with the little rubber ducks with the #'s on the bottom. LOL.

It could be worse Joel you could be like me!LOL I kept one from just about every tank this last clutch and I still have the second clutch to hatch which is smaller making it worse!!!
Plus I keep them based on mostly personality so its like "oh this one acts and looks like dad, have to keep him", "this one is so attentive and cute, have to keep her", "this one is so tiny and different and got chomped on, have to keep her"!LOL
Last year I hatched over 90 babies and only kept 2 (Fiesty and Daisy). This year I am only going to hatch like 35 or so and I already kept 3! Its a good thing I am done! WOW
Anyways, your babies are beautiful and when you think your bad by wanting to keep one, just think "at least I am not as bad as Lindsay"!haha
Take care, Lindsay
