Leopard gecko not eating!

snakecharmed Mar 14, 2004 05:10 AM

Hi everyone,
I recently bought 2 geckos at a show, I have them housed seperatly. The albino has always been a stubborn feeder and the normal is a little pig! Well, the albino is now not feeding and is becoming skinny. The temps and enclosure are right, I have no idea why she won't eat, the only thing I can think of is that maybe it's parasites from the crickets. Does anybody know where I can find something to get rid of internal parasites? I have been to all of my local pet stores trying to find something but none of them have anything for treating parasites. Also, is there something that I can offer her that may stimulate her to feed? I'm really worried about her! Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Christy

The treatment for parasites can't be just bought at a store... Your going to have to get a vet visit, a fecal sample, and the actual medecine... If the vet actually thinks its a parasite.

So I hope you have some money saved up...

How long has it been since he/she hasn't eaten?

get to a vet, even if it is an "exotic" vet and as long as they dont have an attitude about it ask for panicure, its safe at 1mg/kg, id say go to the feed store and get it but depending on how potent the panicure is the doseing is diffrent so its best to have a professional do that.
id also try a liquid vitamin to give some help in the healing process (parasites can take a toll on a little body)
good luck!
