Question concerning cage building materials

Visahari Mar 14, 2004 12:43 PM

I have this hallow piece of drift-wood that i would like to place into my female amazon's enclosure. However i would like to seal up the hallow to keep her from gettig inside, otherwise if she gets in there and i need her, i wont be able to get her out. I was thinking about using expandable foam sealer to fill the cavity, sand down any excess, and then use a silicon sealer over any of the exposed foam. The foam is water tight and airtight, but slightly flamable at really high temps (like 214F). Once cured it givs off no fumes, it is sandable and paintable. The silicon caulk is non-toxic water and air-tight. I was wondering if there is any inherent risks to using the expandable foam sealer. Also i was wondering if anyone had any alternative ideas on how to seal up the cavity in the drift wood. The cavity has multiple entrance points. Thankyou for your time.

hallow should be hollow

hallow means to set apart and revre as holy. A slight different meaning i would think. Sorry for the confusion
