Woo Hoo! I never thought i would be so happy to see poo

MontyPython03 Jun 11, 2003 02:16 PM

My baby BP just pooed for the first time in my presence. That means he digested his food and it agreed with him, correct? I've seen other posts about people that leave their bp alone for the first week or so, but is it okay to go in and check on him every once in a while? The only reason i go into the cage now is to change the water, i don't handle the snake... Thanks in advance!

...congrats on your first BP turd. Yes you can handle him. In fact it's a good thing to start to socialize him/her from the get-go...10-15 minutes 2-3 times a week is good. Note that BP's often will eat several meals before they take a dump and that these deposits can be quite large! Scott J. Michaels DVM
