heating

I currently use a CHE as my heat source. The air temps are ~87-90 on one side and about 80 on the cool side. I used a outdoor thermometer with a probe to measure these temperatures. I was wondering is that sufficent heat for my dude? He seems to eat well, 4.5" and ate 4 mealies last night. He has gotten a fatter tail since i got him at petco 2 weeks ago. I was wondering if i need a UTH for him or if he is ok the way he is?

I was just checking to see if I needed belly heat or not. I'm thinking about putting in a rock, that will warm up and give belly heat if he feels he needs it. Is this a good idea?

i have 3 rocks in my leo tank. 2 are holding up the humid hide and 1 is in the middle. They will absorb heat and they will provide a rough surface for shedding.
