breeding crickets

stunt101 Mar 14, 2004 06:51 PM

i just went out today and bought 13 pinhead crickets and 2 green tree frogs for the 20 gallon high tank. i just wanted some tips on raising crickets. i have a large tubberware containers
2'x 2'x 1' 1/2". i place 2 crickets in the cage for the frogs to eat and the rest went into the breeder box. in there i have a little box of damp soil, many pin cones, egg crate, water dish and a food dish. i was just wondering if the pinhead crickets had to grow more to be able to breed.
i just wanted some tips on....
-how big they have to be to be able to breed,
-how many more will i need to buy in order to feed my 2 frogs for this month and start a colony.
-how long will it take till the eggs are planted and hatch
-how long do the crickets have to grow till they are the right size to breed.
thanx

in 2 weeks i guarentee you that you wil have at most 5 crickets still alive. if you want to breed ask questions at the feeder food forum they have some cricket breeders there.
