This is another of the animals I took in several weeks ago. There are 3 of them that show similar markings, just not as extreme as this male. Am I right in calling it a calico??

He could probably do with some warm soaks. He also looks like it's a good thing you got him and will give him some TLC and a little dinner!!! Keep up the good work Bonnie.
Thanks, Tom!!
Actually, that piece of stuck shed came off right after that... he is fine. Yeah, he's thin, as many of them are, and they were all dehydrated at the time. But he's doing better now, and ate well tonight...
He's actually shed again since then, too.
So, a hypo has those odd areas that look albino? I thought hypos just were missing the black pigment all over? He's not.. just in those areas....
I do have one that I'm sure is a hypo... no black... real pretty. I'll see if I can find her picture...

were still there after he had a good shed. He looked hypo to me but maybe he's a calico hypo!!
These are PART of his color pattern. I have three snakes with similar markings, though none as extreme as this one. I've been rescuing long enough to know what scars look like. This is not a scar situation. The coloring is part of him, not something imposed on him afterwards...
So, is there such a thing as a calico boa??If so, any pics of them??

.......
I, too, have a rescued boa. She has some scars that show up as white spots, like this boa in the picture.
