Red Night Light Clamp Question : Question

scott_and_cat Mar 14, 2004 09:49 PM

We just picked up a red night heat lights for the AFT & the Leopard Gecko. Here's the question-- we picked up 100wt's, and are trying to regulate the overall cage temp at night by raising the clamp lamp 12 inches (aft, new 20L), 8 inches (Leo, new 29L) off the cage-- so far basking side is 90/85 for the AFT and 85/80 for the Leopard gecko. Cool sides are 75/80 for the AFT and 70/75 for the Leopard Gecko. Are these optimal temps? We've looked into 10 different articles/care sheets and they all give different temps. Before we got the night bulbs we had them at a 70/75 overall cage-constant over night heat. Please e-mail or post oppinions ASAP.
