Breeding 1st Timer Question?

MishMosh2207 Mar 14, 2004 11:20 PM

My 6 month old baby vigo is about 17-18 inches. (he's big!) I would love to mate him but when is he ready? I dont want him to get rejected by the fem. Does he have to be a certain size or age? He's a pastel beauty and I would love to mate him w/ a white leusitic female, is it possible?, and anyone in south jersey with that type of female, let me know!

first off, wait until he is at least 16-18 months old, and healthy. Use that same scale for females. If you dont, there is a possibility of stunted growth, or hemepenes becoming disfunctional of something. Males actually can breed at a younger age, but AT LEAST wait until he is a year old before breeding. If you get a female wait until she is at least 16-18 months. Good Luck

Yes you should wait until he is a bit older just to be on the safe side. If your going to breed him to a "Leucistic", be ready to spend the money on one because most people who have one are going to use their own animals for breeding, but yes it is possible to do that.
