can you tell albino eggs from normal eggs?

jimfmcdonald Mar 15, 2004 12:31 AM

I have a clutch of 100% to 100% het albino eggs due to hatch in about two more weeks. some of the eggs that have clear windows on them seem to look very dark inside and some look very light inside. when I hold a flashlight under them you can see what looks like a dark colored snake inside the dark eggs and you can see what looks like a yellow snake inside. has anyone noticed this before and if so did they conferm it to be true when the eggs hatched? I would hate to get all excited by seeing so many light eggs and then they turn out to be normal. I have not herd this talked about so far on this forum so I would like to here from as many of you that have noticed this and help me out . thanks.

I have a book that says that pigment is one of the last thing a snake develops. However, your eggs should all be at the same stage of development so I think it's pretty possible.
You'll share when you find out for sure, won't you?
