My male has put a very nasty rip into the base of one of my females tails. What sould I put on it to prevent infection/problems?

keep it moist by putting neosporin on it.

I just reread your post. You said "base of the tail" so it made me wonder. If the tear is just in the skin and nothing is protruding, etc. then it follow what I said above; keep it clean and moist with ointment. However, if anything is sticking out, a hip bone, organs, or if the tear is into the vent, she needs to go to the vet immediately. If it heals incorrectly, it can kill her.
