A 4-6 QUART CONTAINER SHOULD BE OKAY. IT REALLY TAKES A LOT LESS ROOM THAN YOU WOULD IMAGINE. YOU CAN DRILL HOLES IN THE LID OR SIMPLY LEAVE THE LID OFF (I DON'T USE A LID). THE PROBLEM WITH POOR VENTILATION IS THAT IT IS EASIER FOR MOLD TO APPEAR.

What subtrate should i keep in thier i hear oatmeal but cooked? instant?do i wet the oatmeal keep it dry?

I USE CHICKEN LAYER MASH/CRUMBLES BECAUSE IT IS EXTREMELY CHEAP AND IS ALREADY LOADED WITH CALCIUM. IF YOU COMPARE THE NUTRITIONAL VALUE AND INGREDIENTS TO FLUKER'S CRICKET CHOW THEY ARE THE SAME, BUT FLUKER'S COSTS 40-50 TIMES MORE BASED ON WEIGHT. YOU CAN USE CRUSHED WHOLE OATS, CORN MEAL, WHEAT GERM, ANY KIND OF GRAIN PRODUCT. I BUY THE SMALLEST SIZE BAG OF LAYER MASH FROM A FEED STORE (10 POUNDS) AND IT COSTS $2.35 NO TAX. 2 POUNDS OF THE CHEAPEST WHOLE OATS COSTS THAT MUCH. IF YOU BUY IT, MAKE SURE YOU BAKE IT FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES AT ABOUT 250F JUST IN CASE ANY BUGS/EGGS TAGGED ALONG. AFTER IT COOLS I ALSO BLEND IT TO GET A FINE POWDER. THIS MAKES IT MUCH EASIER TO SIFT LATER ON.

Then i know potatoes and carrots. About how deep should the Rubbermaid be i have never seen a thousand medium mealworms.

I USE WHATEVER EXTRA VEGGIES I HAVE AROUND. DON'T OVERDUE IT WITH VEGGIES. THEY WILL EAT IT ALL, BUT THEY DON'T NEED LOTS OF MOISTURE. JUST PLACE VEGGIES IN TWICE A WEEK, I LEARNED THE HARD WAY THAT TOO MUCH LEADS TO MOLD VERY QUICKLY. THE CONTAINERS I USED RANGE IN DEPTH FROM 4-6 INCHES, THE CAN EASILY BE SLID UNDER THE COUCH OR BED.

I know they prefer cooler climates just like on a shelf roomtemp?

COOLER JUST MEANS THEY WILL NOT GROW AS QUICKLY. ANY ROOM TEMP WILL BE OKAY FOR THEM, BUT IF YOU WANT THEM TO STAY WORMS LONGER THEN KEEP THEM IN A COOL ROOM AWAY FROM DIRECT LIGHT.

Anyone bought from wormman before also how long does it take to deliver i didnt order express

I BOUGHT FORM WORMAN ONCE, DIDN'T NEED TO AGAIN....THE 3000 I ORDERED IN DECEMBER HAVE TURNED INTO A NICE BREEDING COLONY FOR ME.

HOPE THIS HELPS.

Make sure you use unmedicated chicken feed.

how about wheat middling??????

The kind that I use does not say medicated or list any sort of medicine in the ingredients (the bag comes with a piece of paper that has a nutrition guide just like on human food, tells ingredients too). I compared the ingredients to Fluker and it matches up almost exactly. What medicine should I look out for? What is this medicine for and how would it harm geckos? I made sure that it was not medicated before I bought, based on info found here, but no one said what the effects were.

If you don't want them to morph you can keep them in the fridge. Just take them all out once a week to warm up and feed and give them their veggies (don't leave a source of moisture when they're in the fridge) for a day or so. Also, before you feed any to your leo, take out however many you are feeding and warm them up and gutload them for a few hours to a day.
