I havent kept a snake in years, but ....

Da Truth Mar 15, 2004 12:06 PM

When i did, I had a retic as a joint project between me and my dad. That was an experience, and although I have some large reptiles(ie. Nile monitor) I have stayed away from snakes until now.

I am definitly going to get one to add to my reptile collection(I need another animal, cause im getting too many rats from my feeder room ), But my question is where. I don't want a ball with any special features, the base model will do just fine. The only thing that I want is a captive bred ball, with PROOF.I have read alot about them, and I do not need to start breeding gerbils to feed a finicky eater. I have more than enough rats and some mice.

Where would a good place for me to get one. Because it is a strait up ball python, and not a "66% het albino" or other crazy shyte, I do not expect to pay an arm and a leg for it. I am looking for a good price on an immaculately heathly normal common ball that is captive bred, born, and raised for enough time to be considered "well started."

Thanks for the help,
Truth

ask around some of the big breeders, they always produce some normals as siblings to pastels etc... i saw some on www.ballpython.com pricelist

or you can wait till this years crop starts hatching. Many of us, myself included will have some normals on the way.

That is something that I havent read about at all, The time for new hatchlings. About what time of the year are the little guys and girls supposed to be making an appearance in this world (IE, a few weeks, couple months).

Thanks, and thanks for the speedy replies.

they start hatching anytime till end of summer, but I really notice good prices in Mayish which is when I think most have hatched.

above in the sponser area click on nerd...they have 02' yearling males for $85 & up
Also 03' males for $50 & up.
So i think a normal blah 03' ball from them would be a cheap move & you also bought from a well know breeder

if you'r near NY they are always at the white plains, ny show.....you can prob just go there & cop one.

it's april 18th

Da Truth Mar 15, 2004 02:14 PM

And the next show i will be going to is the Hamburg P.A. show, which, im not sure, but i believe its the same weekend. Thanks for the heads up on NERD, those prices are nice, and I have heard of NERD before.

Da Truth Mar 15, 2004 03:40 PM

slytherin Mar 15, 2004 03:52 PM

Da Truth,

There is a show this weekend in Lititz,PA this weekend. Lititz is only a short drive from Philly, not quite to Lancaster. You could easily pick one up there for 50 bucks, maybe less.

...and you want a ball python to do it??? Good luck!

My advice would be to get a blood python, or boa constrictor, or dumerils boa, or a ratsnake or something if that really your goal. Take a guess at how many rats my CBB ball python has eaten in say.....5 months and 3 days.....NOT A DAMN ONE!

You want a nice shy friendly pet? -- Ball Python
You want to start breeding for money? -- Ball Python
You want to reduce your rat collection? -- ANYTHING BUT A BALL PYTHON!!!

Sorry...
