Hello all,
I thought I'd post what I found on my
field trip yesterday. Well, I went to a
favorite hill I like to hike and found it to be
full of lizard activity. In the three hours my friend and
I stayed there, we found five chuckwallas, three males, a juvenile, and an unknown, seven Desert Spiny Lizards, and probably a hundred Side-Blotched Lizards. No joke about the Utas. I saw one other lizard that darted into some rocks,
in front of me, but I couldn't tell if it was a light colored Spiny or if it was a Collared. I didn't go there to do anything but photograph, but the last Chuck was just asking for it. =) I must've snapped a shot three feet away from him, and he didn't even bother to move, so I basically picked him up off of the rock. He didn't even try to bite. He just looked very offended, (if lizards can look offended, this one did) and puffed himself up. It was great. I'm going to my favorite Collared pot sometime this week, so I'll tell you all about that when I get done.
Oh yeah, I wasted a whole roll of film out there, so when I get it developed, I'll post. If the pics are even half as good as I thought they could be, they should be pretty good.
Until next time,
Yours,
Phil
