Retained molt

danread Mar 16, 2004 07:17 AM

Hi,

I have a pair of C.bicinctores that i got a couple of months ago. Since i got them they have fattened up considerably and are looking a lot healthier and more active. The one problem i have is that i noticed they have both retained skin from their past molts on an area behind their back legs, in a sort of dimple between the tail and the leg. I have tried soaking them to get it off, and I tried rubbing it with a cotton wool bud, but it doesn't seem to shift. Any suggestions as to what to do? Looking closely at it, it seems to be the skin from a few previous molts.
Do any of you spray your tanks daily/weekly? I never spray mine, but i do have a full waterbowl at all times, is this ok? Maybe the molt problem is due to it being too dry, but i thought that they came from a very arid environment?

Cheers,

Dan.
