1.) Can sub-adult hissing roaches be sexed?

2.) How do you know when a large sub-adult has become an adult if you didnt catch it molting its last time? Is there no true way of knowing when a large juvi has finally turned into an adult?

It's very easy when you know how. Look at their underside. The male has 2 small abdominal plates right by his vent, and the females only have one large one. This works with every roach species that I have ever kept, and at any age, though it is a lot easier to see the differences in larger specimens, depending on how good your vision is! .
